Alisha Baker is an artist defining herself within both the graphic design and fine arts spheres. Her work is a conscious effort to strike a balance between the two, bringing elements of design into her painting compositions in their direct and sometimes editorial nature, and an artist's eye to the inexplicable subtleties of design.

For fine art, she has taken a diverse approach in her training, attending various classes throughout her life including those at the Kirkland Arts Center, Seattle Central Community College, and the Seattle Academy of Fine Arts. She has organized shows for her paintings at coffee shops and businesses throughout the Seattle area, and completed requests for several commission pieces.

Taking a pragmatic approach to developing her creative skills, she has completed an AAS (Associate of Arts and Science) degree for Graphic Design and Illustration at Seattle Central. She has worked as the in-house graphic designer for REALTIME, a Seattle-based CD manufacturer. Being a small business, it involved wearing many hats beyond that of a graphic designer, including art director, copywriter, production artist, prepress specialist, and customer service representative, as well as some project management.

After a brief period living in the Los Angeles area, she has returned to the Northwest to continue her education and development as a fine artist. The paintings inspired by her time in Southern California can be found in "The California Muse Series" in the "Art" section of the website.
